| This project included the excavation of three seperate mitigation areas where sedimentary sand had built up. When completed, the excavated areas allow water to flow into the existing tidal ponds and create a habitat both functional to wildlife and scenic for visitors. Aquatic vegitation was also planted to prevent erosion and to make the beach more aesthetic.
This project also included the construction of two seawall groins, each approximately 200 feet long. These groins were constructed to prevent further erosion of near 1,000 feet of shoreline. This project also restabilized the beach, by placing over 9000 cubic yards of beach sand between the two seawall groins.
Cypress Point Park started in the beginnning of April and was finished September 2008.
