 Full Project List

Our projects range from commercial seawalls to residential docks.

 Commercial Seawalls
 Sunrise / Moontide Condos
 New Smyrna Beach, Fl
Sunrise and Moontide condominiums are properties located on the east coast of Florida, in New Smyrna Beach. This project is a new Aluminum sheet pile seawall which began October 2005.

The seawall design was engineered by Coastal Tech Engineering, located in Melbourne Florida.

 Chateau by the Sea
 New Smyrna Beach, Fl

This seawall failed during the hurricanes of 2004, and the wall had actually been breached. (See FAQ's)

Upon inspection of the seawall, the day after hurricane Frances, the wall had been breached, at aproximately, the center point of the wall.   What most likely occurred was, at some point during the storm, the already deteriorating wall panels could have allowed a small hole in the structure to open.  Once water was able to get in and open an area up behind the wall, it would have taken very little time for the wall to start being broken down by the 8 to 10 foot breaker waves assaulting it.

This project was especially difficult due to several tremendous 'Nor'easter' storms that struck an already severely eroded beach.  During a two week period, losses due to material lost, amounted to over $ 15,000.00.

 Seaward Condo's Seawall
 New Smyrna Beach Florida

This project was completed prior to May 1st, 2005.

This was the replacement of an existing concrete structure, that failed.  The panels were badly cracked and bowing outward. In many places, sand was migrating through the cracks at the joints.

The wall was constructed 30 plus years ago, when concrete was more porous, and fewer construction requirements were in affect.  The contractor utilized what was available at the time.

The new wall is very clean in appearance, not to mention sound in structural quality.

As you can see, from start to finish, the equipment, knowledge, and determination, to provide the highest quality in the most unique circumstances.

 Sandcastle Condominiums
 Satelite Beach Florida

As in many of the seawalls which failed during the 2004 active hurricane season, there were apparent problems already existing which caused this seawall failure.

This seawall failure occured some time prior to our becoming involved. The engineer determined that adding additional sheet pile to the already existing wall would act as a reinforcing element.  The existing wall had two sets of concrete sheets, one set inside another.  Upon visual inspection, there appeared to be no filter fabric installed.  Several large voids had formed underneath and behind the seawall, which allowed sand to be washed out.  Once the system, though quite massive in size, was tested by hurricane force waves, it  failed catastrophically, and required replacement.

As of the fall of 2005, in Brevard County and the City of Satelite Beach, replacement of even existing seawall structures is very limited and the great majority of applications would be denied permits.

The project was completed substantially prior to October 2005.
